Customer Service = Effective Marketing

Customer service is a form of marketing. Marketing, according to the dictionary, is the the action or business of promoting and selling products or services. Marketing requires money and that means there is a cost involved to bring each customer to your company. If your business wasting money spent on marketing new customers just to turn them away because your customer service is lacking you might want to change things quick!

Good VS Bad Customer Service

Good customer service is hard to find these days, that is why its under looked. Good customer service allows your customer to feel appreciated and that you value their business. Customer service doesn't have to be solving a problem and making a customer happy. Customer service is how you treat your customer whenever they interact with your company.

Bad VS Good Customer Service
Bad customer service is easy to find these days. Some companies I wonder how they are still in business with the way they treat their customers. I understand that a company could have an awesome policy for customer service but that doesn't mean that the customer representative cares. I have been to businesses where I had the best service ever and then when I went to another location I had the worst experience. What if the other location was my first experience? I would probably never go back to that business at all and tell all my friends to never go there.


Provide Good Customer Service & You'll Have an Advantage Over Competitors

There could be many reasons why a customer is coming to your business:

  1. You offer the best prices around
  2. They can't get the service or product anywhere else
  3. Its convenient
  4. They had a good experience in the past
What happens when you don't have the best prices around? What happens when other businesses offer the product(s) or service(s) you do? What happens when its more convenient to shop somewhere else?
The answer is they stop coming to your business, unless you have built them up to loyal through customer service.


Word of Mouth

With bad or good customer service comes word of mouth. Word of mouth is very powerful and its free marketing. If a customer has a bad experience they are more likely to share that experience and that spreads like a wild fire. You will have to spend more money in order to repair the damage caused by this bad experience. Why not just fix it when it happens?

Conclusion

Stop throwing away money with how your customer service is rain within your business. It hurts you from the aspect of making the cost to bring in more customers more pricy and pushes away current and future sales. Customer service is how you deal with you customer to continue a relationship between them and your company. Don't turn away customers with poor customer service and increase the success of you company.
